Hi. I came across your website looking for how Sleep Number has been offering their mattress kits for consumers and actually found your post here to be quite informative.  :) 
 
Thanks for posting the pictures of the inside of the mattress cavity and discussing your experience with setting up this bed. I know this post is dated back quite a few years but I still found it quite useful. 
 
Curious, how did these mattresses work out for you? I've heard both good and bad from people on the Sleep Number mattresses. Hope yours worked out well for you. Take care.
