Steppenwolf Theatre Company is soliciting applicants for the position of a Part-Time Digital Assets Assistant. This position fulfills the department’s need to build and maintain HTML-based web pages and e-mails. The successful candidate will need to be: a) knowledgeable in HTML and basic graphic design; b) skilled at proofreading and c) able to build strong relationships across departments. The Digital Assets Assistant reports to the Digital Assets Director and interfaces with marketing, graphic design and publicity managers. About Steppenwolf:The Steppenwolf Theatre Company is a not for profit, ensemble based theatre company operating in the city of Chicago, Illinois. Now in its 33rd season, the company’s activities include a wide range of artistic programs including the producing of numerous productions, touring both nationally and internationally, professional leadership programs, educational programs, commissioning and workshops. The company owns four different facilities housing its three theatres, production facilities, offices and other support facilities. Responsibilities: ? Build and maintain HTML-based web pages and e-mails. Must be knowledgeable in HTML and able to write code without the use of an HTML editor software application. Knowledge of CSS and JavaScript a plus. ? Update active and archived production and ensemble member pages through custom admin tool. ? Proactively search for code irregularities and typographical errors to submit for correction. ? Aggressively bug-test new functionality added to the Steppenwolf website. ? Work with outside departments to update web pages to their specifications while maintaining and protecting the Steppenwolf brand online. ? Support the Graphic Designer to create web images as well as direct mail, advertising and promotional projects. Should be knowledgeable in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Quark Express. ? Provide additional support to the Marketing Department as needed. Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with qualification and experience and is competitive with prevailing compensation for similar part-time positions within the non-profit performing arts industry.
